How BulbCycle's Program Works
1. Select your kit
Select and purchase the containers for the items you need to dispose of. Our recycling program offers kits for fluorescent lamps/bulbs, LED bulbs, CFLs, ballasts, batteries, electronics, mercury devices and more!
2. Receive and fill with waste
Simply pack the kit at your own pace with your waste. Each kit includes a container, all shipping fees, recycling costs and a certificate of recycling. You will receive your container(s) in 6-11 business days. Don't worry, you have a full year to return them to us.
3. Schedule pickup via FedEx
All of our products ship with a pre-paid FedEx return shipping label. Once your container is full and sealed, call the FedEx phone number that comes on each box to schedule a pre-paid pickup, or drop it off at a FedEx location. The filled container will be delivered for recycling to one of BulbCycle’s permitted facilities located within the United States.
4. Request Certificate of Recycling
After your waste has been received and processed, you can request your certificate by logging into the website provided on your recycling kit. Please allow three weeks for processing.

Receive and fill with waste

After purchasing your recycling kit, you'll receive your UN-rated container within 6-11 business days. Fill the container at your own pace with your hazardous waste materials. Each kit includes all shipping fees, recycling costs, and a certificate of recycling. You have a full year to return the filled container.

Schedule pickup via FedEx

Once your recycling container is full and properly sealed, schedule a free FedEx pickup using the prepaid return shipping label included with your kit. Alternatively, drop off your sealed container at any FedEx location. Your filled container will be transported securely to one of BulbCycle's EPA-permitted recycling facilities located throughout the United States for proper processing and material recovery.

Request Certificate of Recycling

After your hazardous waste has been received and processed at our EPA-permitted facility, you can request your official certificate of recycling by logging into the secure website provided with your recycling kit. This certificate documents the proper disposal and environmental compliance of your waste materials. Please allow three weeks for processing and certificate generation.

What are U-bend and HID lamps?

What Are U-Bend Lamps? U-bend lamps are fluorescent tubes shaped in a U or horseshoe curve instead of a straight line. They work the same way as standard fluorescent tubes but are designed to fit into smaller, more compact fixtures like 2x2 ceiling panels. U-bends contain mercury just like straight fluorescent tubes and should be recycled the same way.
What Are HID Lamps? HID (high-intensity discharge) lamps produce light by sending an electrical arc through a pressurized gas inside a small bulb. They're commonly found in warehouses, parking lots, gymnasiums, and streetlights — anywhere that needs very bright, powerful light over a large area. Common types include metal halide, high-pressure sodium, and mercury vapor lamps. Because HID lamps contain mercury and other hazardous materials, they should always be recycled properly rather than thrown in the trash.
