Note

CFLs are NOT ALLOWED in this container. Lower 48 contiguous states only. 

When returning 8-foot kits, ensure that their dimensions do not exceed 96 inches in length, or any dimensions specified in our distribution product guide.

Purchaser is required to return kits exclusively with materials intended for their original recycling purpose and within their designated capacity. A surcharge will be imposed in cases where the kit is used for returning incorrect materials or if the client exceeds the kit’s designated capacity in both length and weight.

How BulbCycle's program works

BulbCycle's comprehensive recycling program makes it easy to responsibly dispose of hazardous lighting waste including fluorescent lamps, LED bulbs, CFLs, ballasts, batteries, electronics, and mercury devices. Our four-step process ensures safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible recycling of your waste materials.

Select your kit

Browse and select the appropriate recycling kit for your specific waste disposal needs. BulbCycle offers specialized containers for fluorescent lamps, LED bulbs, CFLs, ballasts, batteries, electronics, mercury devices, and more.

Receive and fill with waste

After purchasing your recycling kit, you'll receive your UN-rated container within 6-11 business days. Fill the container at your own pace with your hazardous waste materials. Each kit includes all shipping fees, recycling costs, and a certificate of recycling. You have a full year to return the filled container.

Schedule pickup via FedEx

Once your recycling container is full and properly sealed, schedule a free FedEx pickup using the prepaid return shipping label included with your kit. Alternatively, drop off your sealed container at any FedEx location. Your filled container will be transported securely to one of BulbCycle's EPA-permitted recycling facilities located throughout the United States for proper processing and material recovery.

Request Certificate of Recycling

After your hazardous waste has been received and processed at our EPA-permitted facility, you can request your official certificate of recycling by logging into the secure website provided with your recycling kit. This certificate documents the proper disposal and environmental compliance of your waste materials. Please allow three weeks for processing and certificate generation.

What is a T12, T8, or T5 lamp?

T12, T8 and T5 lamps are all based on the tube's diameter. Applicable to fluorescent and LED lamps, the 12, 8 and 5 refers to the sizing. The measurements are done in increments of an eighth of an inch, so a T12 lamp is twelve-eighths of an inch (hence the "12"), or 1.5 inches. A T8 lamp is 8-eighths of an inch, or one inch, and a T5 is five eighths of an inch, or .625 inch.
