How BulbCycle's Program Works
1. Select your kit
Select and purchase the containers for the items you need to dispose of. Our recycling program offers kits for fluorescent lamps/bulbs, LED bulbs, CFLs, ballasts, batteries, electronics, mercury devices and more!
2. Receive and fill with waste
Simply pack the kit at your own pace with your waste. Each kit includes a container, all shipping fees, recycling costs and a certificate of recycling. You will receive your container(s) in 6-11 business days. Don't worry, you have a full year to return them to us.
3. Schedule pickup via FedEx
All of our products ship with a pre-paid FedEx return shipping label. Once your container is full and sealed, call the FedEx phone number that comes on each box to schedule a pre-paid pickup, or drop it off at a FedEx location. The filled container will be delivered for recycling to one of BulbCycle’s permitted facilities located within the United States.
4. Request Certificate of Recycling
After your waste has been received and processed, you can request your certificate by logging into the website provided on your recycling kit. Please allow three weeks for processing.

Our four-step process ensures safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible recycling of your waste materials.

Select your kit

Browse and select the appropriate recycling kit for your specific waste disposal needs. BulbCycle offers specialized containers for fluorescent lamps, LED bulbs, CFLs, ballasts, batteries, electronics, mercury devices, and more.

Receive and fill with waste

After purchasing your recycling kit, you'll receive your UN-rated container within 6-11 business days. Fill the container at your own pace with your hazardous waste materials. Each kit includes all shipping fees, recycling costs, and a certificate of recycling. You have a full year to return the filled container.

Schedule pickup via FedEx

Once your recycling container is full and properly sealed, schedule a free FedEx pickup using the prepaid return shipping label included with your kit. Alternatively, drop off your sealed container at any FedEx location. Your filled container will be transported securely to one of BulbCycle's EPA-permitted recycling facilities located throughout the United States for proper processing and material recovery.

Request Certificate of Recycling

After your hazardous waste has been received and processed at our EPA-permitted facility, you can request your official certificate of recycling by logging into the secure website provided with your recycling kit. This certificate documents the proper disposal and environmental compliance of your waste materials. Please allow three weeks for processing and certificate generation.

What are LEDs?

What Are LED Lights? LED (light-emitting diode) lights use small electronic chips to produce light instead of gas or filaments. They last much longer and use far less energy than fluorescent tubes. While LEDs don't contain mercury or PCBs, they do contain small amounts of recyclable materials like copper, aluminum, and glass that should be kept out of landfills. Recycling LEDs helps recover these resources and reduces environmental waste.
How to Identify LED Tubes LED tubes can look almost identical to fluorescent tubes, but there are easy ways to tell them apart. Check the label printed on the tube — LED tubes will say "LED" on them. You can also look at the ends: LED tubes often have solid, sealed end caps instead of the two metal pins found on fluorescent tubes. If you can see inside the fixture, an LED tube won't have a ballast connected to it, or the ballast will be bypassed.
